Craft Beer in Chattanooga

Chattanooga has a long history of crafting and enjoying beer.  Today's Chattanooga offers beer-lovers an ever-increasing supply of unique and delicious craft brews.  In fact, Livablity.com recently named Chattanooga one of the top 10 beer cities.  The most popular place for craft beer in Chattanooga is Big River Grille and Brewing Works. Though Big River Grille is now a national chain with over 200 locations across the country, it was Chattanooga's first brew pup in the 1990's.  Another popular brewery is Chattanooga's locally owned and operated Terminal Brewhouse.  This brewery, located in the historic Stong Building, has been at the forefront of the local craft beer scene.  Their signature brews, which include the Magnum P.A., Terminally Ale and Southsidenstein Stout, are made in house in the basement.  The tanks are even visible from the railings of each floor of the building.  Other Chattanooga breweries include the Chattanooga Brewing Company, which pays homage to the original Chattanooga brewery that operated between 1890-1915, and Hutton & Smith Brewery, featuring rock-climbing related craft beers like Igneous IPA, Coffee Porterledge and the Rope Gun Rye.

Chattanooga craft beerBreweries aren't the only place you'll find delicious craft beer in Chattanooga.  This August, crowds will swarm the Chattanooga Riverfront for the annual Southern Brewer’s Festival.  Here, you'll find craft beers from over 50 different breweries, plus lots of music and other entertainment.  Visitors to Chattanooga can also explore the craft beer scene aboard the popular pints and pedals tour, or the Chattanooga Brew Choo Tour.  Both tours will introduce participants to the hottest bars and breweries in the Chattanooga area, but will require a little work to get there first, as you'll have to do all the pedaling along the way.  Finally, if you're just looking for a quick cool down on a hot summer afternoon, try one of these favorite watering holes:  The Flying SquirrelBrewhaus Restaurant, Hair of the Dog Pub, The Honest Pint, Tremont Tavern, or The Feed Co. Table & Tavern.

No matter how you spend your days, let your night unwind with a delicious craft beer at one of these popular Chattanooga Restaurants or bars.  Afterwards, relax further in the luxurious accommodations at our Lookout Mountain Bed and Breakfast. Book your room today!
