The Hunter Museum of American Art is an incredible space. The museum is perched on an 80-foot limestone bluff above the Tennessee River, offering exceptional views of the river and surrounding mountains. The view is only the beginning, though, as there is incredible art that awaits both inside and out. The Hunter Museum of American Art houses what is considered to be one of the best collections in the country, featuring works from the Colonial Period through present times. The exhibits inside feature a variety of artistic mediums, including paintings, works on paper, sculpture, photography, mixed media, furniture and contemporary studio glass. The Hunter Museum also hosts several interesting events throughout the year. This summer, they’re once again hosting the Bands on the Bluff Summer Concert Series. This summer concert series continues on July 5th with Psychedelic Summer. The next concert in the series will be August 2, 2018, followed by performances on September 6 and October 4, 2018.
